Dinner at the Charles Bridge

On the last day of the school year, which was 30 June 2020, we summoned a bunch of Praguers to Charles Bridge and set up a dining table half-a-kilometre-long with white tablecloths and flowers in vases. It was a potluck-style feast where everyone had to bring something and offer it to their neighbour. The patron saint of all bridges is St. John of Nepomuk. We did not intended to celebrate the end of covid crisis, we wanted to celebrate the empty Charles Bridge with locals.

The story was picked up by international news outlets. With a bit of luck, perhaps in a year we’ll be able to organise something similar in other cities.
